Man, woman dead in apparent Cicero murder-suicide: police

A man was found stabbed to death and a woman hanged in what police are calling a murder-suicide, May 30, 2019, in west suburban Cicero.

Police are investigating the case as a murder-suicide and “do not believe there is a danger to the community at this time.”

Police are investigating after a woman apparently stabbed a man to death before hanging herself Thursday in west suburban Cicero.

Leonardo Vargas, 47, was found dead with multiple stab wounds at 10:22 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Central Avenue, according to Cicero police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the same block.

Janette Ramirez, 41, was also found dead of an apparent suicide by hanging, police said. She also lived in Cicero.

Detectives are investigating the case as a murder-suicide and police said they “do not believe there is a danger to the community at this time.”
