Two people in Sydney’s north west have been killed in what police suspect to be a domestic violence-related incident.
On Sunday, just before 5am, emergency services were called to a property in Quakers Hill’s Illabo Street following reports of a disturbance.
When police arrived, a man believed to be in his 30s was found on the footpath with stab wounds to his stomach and hands. A woman, also believed to be aged in her 30s, was found dead inside the Quakers Hill home.
The man was taken to Liverpool Hospital, but died from injuries later this morning.
A 47-year-old man was arrested at about 5.30am after reporting to Blacktown Police Station.
Per 9News, Superintendent Jason Joyce described it as a “very traumatic incident”.
“Very sad in terms of the time of the year, my sympathy goes out to the family of the deceased,” Joyce said.
“Very confronting for my police and emergency services that attended. Obviously not a nice thing to see.”

Police have said the two people who passed away were in a relationship, and it’s believed the male who’s been arrested “was previously in a relationship with the female”.
Per the publication, multiple crime scenes have been established following the incident, including the Illabo Street home, a service station in Woodcroft, a home in Blacktown where the suspect lives and Liverpool Hospital.
Police have urged anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage between 4.30am and 5.30am to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
