A man has died as police search for an alleged attacker who left him with stab wounds near a beach.
The man in his 20s was found suffering stab wounds on Ocean Parade at Coffs Harbour about 6.40am on Thursday, NSW Police said in a statement.
Paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to hospital, where he later died.
Homicide detectives have joined the investigation.
Nearby Coffs Harbour Surf Life Saving Club closed its restaurant and bar for the day "due to unforeseen circumstances".
