Police are investigating an assault in Adelaide's north that has left a man in a critical condition in hospital.
According to police, the assault happened on Peacock Road, Elizabeth Downs, about 11:30pm last night.
The 59-year-old victim was found lying on the street with serious head wounds.
He was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Senior Constable Kimberley Broad said the attack was not a random incident.
"[We're] just asking anyone with information [about] the incident — if they witnessed anything at all occurring in Peacock Road at Elizabeth Downs last night — to give us a call," she said.
