Police are warning residents about a man who has tried to rob two people at knifepoint and stabbed one of them last week in Ravenswood and Albany Park on the Northwest Side.

In both cases, the suspect displayed a knife and demanded property from victims before ultimately running away empty-handed, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The first incident happened at 6:30 a.m. Oct. 9 in the 3600 block of West Wilson Avenue, and the other was at 5:45 a.m. Oct. 11 in the 2800 block of West Montrose Avenue, police said. The suspect stabbed the victim during the Montrose robbery attempt.

The suspect is described as 30 to 36 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall and 180 to 240 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
