An investigation is underway after a man in possession of an imitation firearm made off from police.
Police were called to an incident near Deane Road, in Bolton, at 3pm yesterday (Friday January 20). An imitation firearm was recovered from the area but no arrests were made after the man who had been holding the gun managed to flee.
GMP confirmed that the incident is not believed to be connected to a later incident in the same area, where officers were called to a mass brawl in Deane Road, at around 5pm.

A force spokesman said: "Police were called to reports of a man with an imitation firearm in Bolton. A man At approximately 3pm yesterday (21 January 2023), officers were called to reports of an incident near Deane Road in Bolton.
"A man in possession of an imitation firearm made off from police. The imitation firearm was recovered and no arrests were made. Enquiries are ongoing."
