Man with Harry Potter name says people always think he's lying when he introduces himself

When it comes to names, a number of parents like to take inspiration from their favourite books and films.

One man's name certainly sounds like it was based on the magical book series by J.K. Rowling that has captivated so many.

However, he claims his name was purely accidental - as he was born three years before Harry Potter even came to exist.

In a video which has garnered hundreds of thousands of views, a TikTok user revealed that his name is Griffin Dohr.

Yes, pronounced exactly like the Hogwarts House, Gryffindor.

He explains in the clip that he is called a liar every single day as people don't believe his name is real when he introduces himself.

"If you think your name is cooler than mine, I need you to stitch this, duet this, bop it, twist it, pull it - whatever you need to do," he said.

"I don't think you'll be able to beat me, but I'm curious."

More than 84,000 people liked the video, with thousands commenting to share their own cool name stories.

Some also had Harry Potter names, with one saying: "My children's father is Tom Riddle. He is saved as Voldemort in their phones."

A second added: "My co-worker is Harry Potter. He's like 40-something and he hates it."

Another replied: "My maiden name is Hurley and my husband's last name is Gurley, so when I got married I became a Hurley Gurley."

While a fourth wrote: "My sister Mary is married to a man named Brian Christmas. Her name is Mary Christmas."

"My dad's name is Bruce Wayne," claimed a different user.

A sixth added: "My name is Elsa, I have a younger sister named Ana. Oh and I'm from Iceland."

"My mom married someone with the last name Wood. She's Holly Wood," confessed a seventh.

Someone else joked: "If we were friends I would shout 'TEN POINTS FOR GRIFFIN DOHR' every time you told me something exciting or did something awesome."
