Man with autism mugged for his money and bottle of coke on cycle path

A gang of teens mugged an autistic man for his money and bottle of coke on a cycle path in Hyde.

The disabled 20-year-old was walking along the path behind Donald Avenue when he was approached by the gang at around 7.30pm on Thursday, August 8.

The group of around five lads threatened the victim, demanding he hand over his money and a bottle of coke he'd bought for his mum.

He was then punched to the floor and later taken to hospital with cuts and bruising to his eye.

The offenders then fled on foot.

Police say the young man was left 'very shaken' by the incident and are appealing for information about the incident.
