Man wielding a knife steals cash from Bolton shop in terrifying robbery

A knife-wielding man stole cash from a Bolton store in a terrifying robbery.

Police were called to a premises on Wigan Road in Westhoughton to reports of a man with a knife.

Officers say he entered the store with the weapon before taking money from the till and fleeing the scene on foot.

No injuries were reported and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact police.

In a statement, GMP said: “Officers were called around 6.20pm on Monday 12 July to a business premises on Wigan Road, Westhoughton to a report of a male with a knife.

“Enquiries have since established a male entered the store brandishing a knife before taking money from a till and fleeing the scene.

“No injuries were reported.

“Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.”
