These shocking images show another Merseyside resident who is suffering with a horrendous condition - and who has been denied crucial benefits.
Birkenhead MP Frank Field has - for the second time this week - shown evidence of how his constituents are being denied vital support despite their terrible circumstances.
Mr Field made headlines on Monday when he displayed images of one of his constituents who had 'bones coming through his flesh' - and yet had been turned down for mobility support.
Holding up an image of the man's gnarled feet, he said: "These feet are not made for walking."
Now the Independent MP has sent the ECHO images of another man in his constituency whose feet are in an 'appalling' condition, and who has also been refused key benefits.
Explaining the situation in full, Mr Field, who also chairs the Work and Pensions Select Committee, said: "My constituent has Type 2 Diabetes. In 2008, he fell through a trapdoor and wounded his shin. The wound turned ulcerous. Following compression, it took two years to heal.
"The compression dressing wore a hole in his left ankle which also turned ulcerous. The ulcers on his toes and ankles appeared over a weekend, sometime in 2014.
"My constituent applied for Disability Living Allowance in 2010. It was refused but on appeal he was granted middle rate care and high-rate mobility.
"At a review in 2013 he was taken off DLA but it was reinstated on appeal.
"At a review in 2016 he was taken off DLA but it was reinstated on appeal.
"At a review in 2019 he was refused PIP.
"He is appealing and I’ve raised this case with the Minister.
"He has been told that he must return his mobility car by 6pm on Sunday October 13 and I’ve asked Motability if they will allow him to keep it while we try to resolve his case."
Speaking about the man's condition, the Birkenhead MP added: "He likens the pain to being unable to step away from a gas fire after warming yourself.
"It is excruciating and constant.
"In February 2019, he was rushed into A&E with sepsis due to an infection, followed by two bouts of C-Difficile.
"Bedridden for two months, the ulcers gradually healed but were opened as soon as he began to walk about.
"Yet more feet the DWP believes are fit for walking."
