A man who was arrested after gardai found a loaded shotgun in a north Dublin house is set to appear in court tomorrow.

The man, who is in his 40s, was arrested during a raid on a house in Cabra and is expected to appear before a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court.

Gardai recovered a loaded sawn-off shotgun as well as three rounds of ammunition during the search yesterday.

A garda spokesman said: “A man in his 40s who arrested by Gardaí during an operation in Cabra on Saturday in which a firearm was recovered is expected to appear before a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court tomorrow morning charged in connection with the investigation.”

The man was detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Finglas Garda Station.

The operation was carried out by detectives based at Cabra Station and members of the ASU (Armed Support Unit).
