Man who wanted lads removing from bar over their outfits told to 'get a life'

A man who told a bartender to call the police after seeing what a group of lads were wearing was slammed as "ridiculous" by ECHO readers.

Manager Justin Quine was working behind the bar at On Point cocktail bar on Victoria Street on Sunday, August 29, when he was approached by the man, who asked him to call the police.

After asking the man why, he was told a group of four men in the bar 'looked chavvy' and he needed to 'get them out and call the police'.

His comments were directed towards the group, who were in their mid 20s, and wearing trainers and caps.

Justin said he was shocked at the comment as the club had 'not once had any trouble' and the venue is 'completely inclusive to all.'

After the man carried on demanding staff remove the men, they asked him to leave as he was 'creating the problem'.

Since the story was shared online on Monday, dozens of ECHO readers have taken to the comments to express their views.

Maureen Owens said: "Glad they asked him to leave instead."

Gail Lunt said: "How ridiculous is he!!! Judging 4 lads on how they were dressed, get a life mate!!!"

Denise Lynn said: "Surely people should be judged by their behaviour. Glad they asked the stuffed shirt to leave."

Rene Murphy said: "I don’t understand why he wanted lads removed, did he know them?"

Another ECHO reader said: "What a sad, judgemental and pathetic existence some people lead."
