A man who threatened an MP has been banned from contacting her for two years.
Lisa Cameron, 49, the SNP member for East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow, was left in tears after plumber Brian McKerrow, 49, used a megaphone to shout abuse outside her constituency office window.
McKerrow, of Kirkintilloch, in East Dunbartonshire, went on trial at Hamilton Sheriff Court where he denied stalking the MP but prosecutors accepted a reduced plea to a charge of acting in a threatening and abusive manner.
He was put under supervision for two years by Sheriff Linda Nicolson. The sheriff also issued an order banning him from contacting the politician.
