Man who tried to take picture of suspicious BMW - which turned out to be stolen - was 'told his house would be burned down'

A man who tried to take a picture of a suspicious BMW - which turned out to be stolen and on false plates - was 'told his house would be burned down'.

Cops were alerted to the 'dumped' vehicle on Hobart Street in Gorton.

It has now been seized, after officers discovered it had been stolen in Stockport.

Ward councillor Julie Reid said she had been alerted to the vehicle by a resident, who claimed he was threatened when he tried to take a picture.

"Thanks to Anthony and our PCSOs for dealing with this at such short notice and getting the vehicle recovered," she said on Twitter.

"A resident has been threatened by the offenders when he tried to take a picture of them.

"They said they would burn his house down.

"Any information will be investigated."
