A man who brandished part of his broken front door at cops has been spared jail.
Stuart Anderson was "hit on the leg" by part of the door after police, who had been called to deal with reports of an "ongoing incident ", forced their way into his then home in Wood Street, Grangenmouth.
Falkirk Sheriff Court was told that the incident occurred about 15.05pm on July 28th last year, 2020, and officers had only forced the door after Anderson's "repeated failure" to open in.
When officers entered the living room, they found Anderson, 31, holding the piece of wood, which had two nails sticking out of it, above his head.
He was told to put it down, and had to be physically restrained after refusing to do so.
Anderson admitted statutory breach of the peace.
Solicitor-advocate Martin Morrow, defending, said: "When the police broke down the door a piece of the frame flew off and hit him on the leg.
"My client didn't go looking for this piece of wood, it literally came to him."
Sheriff Derek Livingston made Anderson subject to a three month tagging order, with a 7pm to 7am curfew.
