Republican Rep. Max Miller said on Friday that a man who ran him off the road while shouting "death to Israel!" and waving a Palestinian flag has been arrested and charged.
Capitol Police detailed that the 36-year-old man has been identified as Feras S. Hamdan and is charged with Aggravated Menacing. "The investigation is still unfolding," the department said in a statement, according to Axios.
Miller, who is Jewish and pro-Israel, described the incident on Thursday. "The deranged hatred in this country has gotten out of control. Today I was run off the road in Rocky River, and the life of me and my family was threatened by a person who proceeded to show a Palestinian flag before taking off," he said in a social media publication.

"As a Marine, a proud Jewish American and a staunch defender of Israel, I will not hide in the face of this blatant antisemitic violence," he added.
House Democrats have been calling for increased funding for lawmakers' security, claiming the incident illustrates the need for it. The outlet also noted that there is growing unease among lawmakers about violence across the country, quoting a senior Democrat who said many "are scared."
Another House Democrat said there is "heavy demand" for personal security for them. Earlier this month, two Minnesota lawmakers, Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman, were shot in what has been described as a "targeted" attack.
