Man who punched woman in viral road rage attack given good behaviour bond

A man filmed punching a woman during a road rage attack that went viral online has been given a good behaviour bond.

Clint Pollard pleaded guilty to assault in Wyong Local Court this week after punching Bianca Sams at Lake Munmorah, on the New South Wales Central Coast, last July.

Video of the incident, which shows Pollard getting out of his car and punching the 21-year-old in the face, was posted on Facebook and received thousands of views.

Pollard received a three-year good behaviour bond and was fined $900.

The vision did not show what happened before and after the assault.

'I tried running him over'

On Thursday, Taylor Benbridge — a woman who was driving the car Ms Sams was in — appeared in Wyong Local Court where further details of the incident were given.

The court heard Ms Sams had earlier thrown nails towards Pollard's car.

After the assault, Benbridge reversed towards Pollard, who jumped a guard rail to get out of the way.

Benbridge was given a suspended five-month jail sentence with the magistrate noting she had bragged of her actions on Facebook.

"Yeah he ran and once I seen him behind the car I tried running him over for hitting you … bloody gronk," she wrote at the time.

Ms Sams faces a number of charges, including damaging property, being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, intentionally throwing an object at a vehicle, having part of her body outside the car window and not wearing a seatbelt.

Her hearing is scheduled for March 15 in Wyong.
