A man has been jailed after a loaded gun was found in a stolen car following a high-speed police chase.
Forensic evidence linked Tyler McLaughlin to the weapon and a glove found in the black Audi A5.
It came after officers from GMP's Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit began pursuing the car during a routine patrol in Northenden in the early hours of the morning on March 8, 2020.
The Audi sped off along Palatine Road when the driver appeared to startle after recognising police in the unmarked cop car.

It then turned onto Kenworthy Lane towards the M60 before being abandoned when four men ran off from the car.
Inside the car police found a loaded gun and a bag containing two rounds of ammunition.
The Audi was later found to be stolen and had been fitted with false number plates.
Forensic work on the gun and a glove recovered from the scene confirmed McLaughlin had been in possession of the weapon.

On Friday the 24-year-old, of Ulverston Avenue, Withington, was jailed for seven and half years at Manchester Crown Court after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing to possessing a prohibited firearm, possessing ammunition loaded into the firearm, ammunition found in a bag, and possessing a firearm and ammunition when prohibited.
McLaughlin was also sentenced in relation to outstanding class A and B drug offences from June 18, 2019 that also occurred in the South Manchester area.
Det Sgt Mark Graham said: "Our top priority is keeping the public safe and we are committed to taking lethal weapons such as firearms off the streets of Greater Manchester.

"They have the power to not only create serious harm but also cause an extreme amount of fear across our community.
"I hope this sentence serves as a deterrent to those considering the use of firearms in the Greater Manchester area."
Det Inspector Madeline Kelly, of GMP's Xcalibre Task Force, whose team led the investigation, said: "Our ongoing fight against Organised Crime has seen us take a high number of potentially deadly weapons from the streets, and our work continues on a daily basis.
"We know that when we seize weapons and ammunition or put someone behind bars, that we can't stop there, and the Xcalibre Task Force will continue pursuing criminals across Manchester to bring them to justice and ensure the safety of the public."
