A man who kicked and punched his disabled boyfriend in the head repeatedly while he was on the ground during a drunken row and left him with brain injuries has been jailed.
Violent Christopher Jones, 40, attacked his partner, 66, and knocked his teeth out after head-butting him when he lost his temper during a drunken argument, a court heard.
The victim suffered multiple injuries which doctors feared were life threatening, including haemorrhaging to the brain and lung bruising.
Leeds Crown Court heard how Jones had gotten into a heated altercation with two other men before he unleashed a vicious assault on his partner.
He had been dogsitting for his partner's neighbour on the evening of October 19 last year at a property on Blakey Road in Wakefield, West Yorks., the court heard.

Shouting was heard around midnight after Jones got into an argument with the neighbour's son over the dog getting out.
Shortly afterwards Jones got into another argument with a third man in the house where they had been drinking.
Jones' partner, who has mobility problems and struggles to walk unaided, became scared at his loss of temper and grabbed a kitchen knife to defend himself.
The defendant said the victim then attacked him with the knife, leaving him with serious slashes to his arms which required surgery to repair damaged tendons.
Jones headbutted the victim, knocking out at least two teeth and causing him to drop the knife and fall to the floor.
He then continued attacking into the stricken victim, kicking and punching him.
Jones went next door to clean himself up and the victim was able to call the police.
Officers found Jones at the back door of the victim's house with his shoes covered in blood but he claimed he had just woken up.
The victim also suffered lacerations to his head and hands and three broken ribs.
The court was told that the victim is recovering from his injuries but is still struggling emotionally.
He was left unable to sleep and feared the defendant would return to his home.
Jones, of Gordon Street, Wakefield, has 13 convictions for 31 offences, including assault in 2012.
He appeared in court via video link from HMP Leeds after he was recalled to prison from a previous conviction.
Gareth Henderson-Moore said Jones claimed the victim came at him with a knife and the headbutt was in self defence.
He added: "But since he was on the floor, anything beyond that goes beyond self defence.
"He is remorseful. He did not want to hurt the complainant but wanted to protect himself.
"It's a matter of excessive self defence."
