Man who held staff at knifepoint in Dublin attempted robbery, to appear in court

A man who stormed a Dublin shop and held its staff at knifepoint yesterday will appear in court today.

The man demanded money from staff while holding a knife in the attempted robbery before 11am on Sunday 17.

The incident happened in a shop on Cardiffsbridge Road in Finglas.

A number of Garda units arrived at the scene, and a man was arrested.

The man, who is in his 40s, has since been charged.

A garda spokesman said: "No injuries were reported and no property was taken.

"The man will now appear before Blanchardstown District Court this morning, Monday, 18th October at 10.30am."
