A man sending inappropriate messages to women on a My Little Pony chat forum was found to have a porn image of cartoon character Lisa Simpson.
Mark Hemus attracted police attention after a complaint was made regarding his sexual posts on the popular toy forum, Bristol Crown Court heard. (May 11,2020)
Police called in examined his computer devices and found he had been browsing the internet for indecent images of children.
It was found he possessed an inappropriate image of Lisa Simpson, one of the characters popular cartoon series The Simpsons.
Hemus, 34, of Easrcliff in Portishead, pleaded guilty to possessing a Category B indecent image of a child.
He also pleaded guilty to possessing 69 prohibited images.
Judge Martin Picton heard that, in 2007, Hemus was convicted for making indecent images of children and handed a three-year community order.
Handing him another such order, Judge Picton told Hemus: "You've gone down the wrong path again.
"You must understand you can't continue to access these images.
"It is against the law.
"You must stop yourself. You must not look at these images in future. You must not offend."
Hemus was told to go on a sexual offender's programme.
He was handed a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, banning him from unchecked internet use.
He was also told to register as a sex offender for five years and was barred from working with children and vulnerable adults.
Richard Posner, prosecuting, said it was found Hemus downloaded the offensive material from February 2018 and May 2019
Police interviewed him twice but on both occasions Hemus declined to comment.
Robert Morgan-Jones, defending, stressed his client had made online exchanges with adults.
He told the court Hemus is having therapy.
