Man who died after incident at Scottish holiday park named

A MAN who died at a holiday park in Inverclyde has been named as Raymond Cosgrove by police.

Officers were called to a report of a man having been injured on Rothesay Gardens, Wemyss Bay, at around 12.05am on Sunday.

Emergency services attended, but 33-year-old Cosgrove was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with his death. He is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie said: “I’m aware this incident will be a cause of concern for people and I would like to confirm Raymond’s family is being supported by specialist officers during this time.”

A spokesperson for Wemyss Bay Holiday Park said: “We continue to support police with their investigations and, as such, cannot comment further.

“Our deepest condolences are with the family and loved ones of the deceased at this extremely difficult time.”
