Man who didn't read menu properly hit with massive bill at Gordon Ramsay steak restaurant

A man has told of his big mistake made at world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant recently that saw him hit with a massive bill.

The food lover explained that he “didn’t read the menu” properly which resulted in him spending a month’s rent on meat for himself and his girlfriend.

He said he felt like a "doughnut' for 'f***ing up" his order after he was handed a hefty bill at Gordon Ramsay Steak at Harrah's while visiting Atlantic City, US.

Despite the hefty receipt, the customer says he has no regrets after a stunning meal.

Initially, he planned to treat himself to some Wagyu beef, but his eyes began to wander and he came across the "real deal" Triple Seared Japanese A5 on the menu.

The meat, which is also known as Kobe, is thought to be the finest cut you can get.

Despite being surprised that it looked cheaper than the Wagyu, the diner still went ahead and ordered. He said it cost around €29 for 4oz, compared to about €66 for 8oz of Wagyu.

"So I’m a big guy, I’m hungry, so I order 12oz of Kobe," he explained.

"The steak was amazing. I’m in my 40s and only had Wagyu before in my life just twice.

"I had never had real deal Kobe. It was like nothing else you’ll ever have. Melt in your mouth delicious.

“We also ordered a couple of sides, and appetisers, and my girlfriend had chef Ramsay's famous beef wellington for the first time ever.

"All in all an amazing meal and we were glad we could support the restaurant and its staff during these challenging times. And I still couldn't believe Kobe was cheaper than Wagyu!

"Or so I thought."

But the diner soon realised that he had made an oversight on the menu and that the beef he requested was actually €29 per ounce with a minimum order size of 4oz.

Unfortunately, the meat was not €29 for 4 ounces like he had thought.

He added: "I had to read the menu again when the bill came because, for 2 people, the bill was over $600.00 (€620)!!"

Eventually, he saw the funny side following the trip with his girlfriend and said: "I wish Chef Ramsay was there to come out and call me a donut for f***ing this up lol.

"I enjoyed the hell out of it. No regrets baby!"
