A man has been detained by armed police outside the Houses of Parliament.
The individual was pinned to the ground by police and pictures from the scene show armed officers surrounding the man, who is lying flat on the grass in New Palace Yard.
In one image, police can be seen pointing their guns at the man as he lies on the ground.
One witness said he 'climbed into Parliament' before being tasered by police.
Following the incident a man could be seen sitting down just inside the gates to Parliament, his hands behind his back apparently handcuffed, with two police officers with hands on his shoulders.
The man was led into the courtyard where he appeared to be in an animated conversation with police, who kept their hands on him while wearing blue surgical gloves.

He was then led away to another part of the courtyard near the exit, still talking to police, with his hands handcuffed behind his back.
A police van was then driven into the courtyard, and the man was pushed into the back of the van while shouting loudly about “my rights”.
Describing the incident, one witness said: "Just saw someone climb into Parliament. Quickly tasered and guns immediately drawn. Impressive performance from the police."
There were almost a dozen other police officers stood close nearby.
Police were standing at various points around the perimeter of the Parliament gates.
It happened on the highest-profile day of the week as Boris Johnson answered PMQs Cabinet ministers were in attendance.
The main gates of Parliament were shut to entrants and exits with pass-holders being directed away from the area.
The spot where the man was seen is close to where previous intruders have gained access by jumping the high fence.
