Man who collapsed at bus stop in 'extreme pain' searching for the teenagers who saved him

A man who collapsed in the street and was left in 'extreme pain' because of a burst stomach ulcer is searching for the group of heroic youngsters who saved him.

David Blomley was waiting at a bus stop in Little Lever, Bolton, on the evening of Friday, August 28 when he was overcome with agony and fell to the ground.

He had no idea what was happening to him but he began to experience sever abdominal pain and could not get up.

Luckily, a group of teenagers who were passing by spotted the 66-year-old lying on the ground and rushed to help him.

They called an ambulance and stayed by his side until paramedics arrived to treat him.

David believes the youngsters were around 18 years old and wants to track them down to say a 'big thank you' for helping him.

“They really were brilliant," he said.

"I would really like to get back in touch with them to pass on my thanks personally.”

David was later taken to hospital where he was admitted for ten days due to a burst stomach ulcer, an extremely painful condition which can have serious consequences if not treated.

He is now recovering well at home and has thanked all of the paramedics and ambulance staff who helped him.

Anyone who has any details about the people who helped David, is asked to get in touch with the North West Ambulance Service on communications@nwas.nhs.uk.
