Man who claims to be Charles and Camilla's son says Mother's Day was 'hard'

A man who claims to be Prince Charles and Camilla's love child says Mother's Day was "hard" for him.

Simon Charles Dorante-Day, 55, is convinced he is the offspring of the royal couple - and has requested a DNA test to prove it.

The British-born father-of-nine has said repeatedly in the press and online that the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall are his parents.

The couple have never responded to the claims, which he has also made on TV shows such as 'This Morning'.

Sunday marked Mother's Day in Australia, where Mr Dorante-Day now lives - prompting him to post on Facebook.

He said: "It's Mothers Day over here in Australia today.

"So a very Happy Mother's Day to all of you who fulfil the role of mother wherever you are.

"Also, a big hug to all those of you who miss their Mother, never got to speak to or touch their Mother, never knew their Mother, and Mother's who have lost or had to give up their children.

"I feel your pain - Everyday, and I know she does too."

And he later added: "Thank you all for the beautiful comments, wishes, and messages on yesterday's Mothers Day post, always a hard day for me, you all certainly helped."

Mr Dorante-Day was conceived in 1965, when the Prince of Wales was just 17 and the duchess was 18.

Despite this being five years before the royal couple are understood to have met, Mr Dorante-Day claims Camilla fell pregnant and kept it a secret.

During this period, he says, Charles was sent to Australia and Camilla disappeared from the public eye for nine months.

In actual fact, the Duchess was pictured at numerous points throughout the year, and was notably a debutante in London on March 25, 1965.

Born in Gosport, Mr Dorante-Day was adopted by Karen and David Day when he was 18 months old.

He claims his adoptive grandparents, Winifred and Ernest, worked in the Queen's household - suggesting Ernest receiving an Imperial Service Award, although there is no official record of this.

"My grandmother, who had worked for the Queen, told me outright that I was Camilla and Charles' son many times," he told 7 News previously.

"We owe it to our children for them to have answers.

"At the end of the day, I'm just a man who's looking for his biological parents - and every road takes me to Charles and Camilla."

Mr Dorante-Day even filed papers in a bid to force the royals to take a DNA test but he has still been ignored - and says he won't stop there.

He has also previously shared a picture comparing his son Liam to the Queen when she was in her 20s.

Mr Dorante-Day said he was "blown away" when he first saw the snaps side-by-side and claims the photo is evidence he is telling the truth.

He has also claimed his 'truth' would have been revealed if it wasn’t for the death of Princess Diana in 1997.

"We believe that Diana knew of my existence and that she had put the pieces together,” he said.

"I think Diana was at a point where she was finding out answers about her life, how she was wronged, and she was going to go public with it."
