A brute who beat up his partner in her Blantyre home then warned her not to tell the police has been jailed for 18 months.
Thomas Woods, 37, a prisoner, was sentenced at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week.
He admitted punching Samantha Millar repeatedly on the head and body to her severe injury.
The attack happened at her home in Burnbrae Road on January 11 this year.
Woods, who has a long list of previous convictions, also admitted attempting to pervert the course of justice by threatening the victim and instructing her not to speak to police officers.
He further admitted struggling with officers, trying to spit on them and kicking and punching walls.
