A man who has plenty of experience in retail and customer service, has applied for more than 400 jobs in two years but still has not found employment.
Jake Hopes says competition to land a job in Bristol is so high, he has turned down by a variety of employers including Pizza Hut and Asda.
The aspiring actor, from Barrs Court, has spent years working at a cinema, the kitchen of a pub and a shop.
On average, the 23-year-old applies for around four jobs a week.
He says it can be soul-destroying when he doesn't receive a response. Other times he makes it to the interview stages but never secures the position.
Throughout the two year period, he has been employed for temporary work but has not been able to find a permanent position.
"I didn't even get a job at Pizza Hut, somewhere you think hires most people." said Jake. "There's just so many people applying for one role, it's really tough.

"I need to earn money so I can fund a degree in acting. Without work I can't do that.
"I've been to quite a few interviews but most of the time I just don't hear anything back.
"It's really frustraing. I spend a lot of time at home bored. I make sure I go out for walks but most of the time I don't leave the house. I want to work. I really want to become a successful actor but I can't do that without money."
Bristol Live contacted Asda and Pizza Hut to find out how many applicants apply for one role in Bristol.
Asda said they were unable to give statistics for individual cities and Pizza Hut did not reply.
