Detectives have charged a 27-year-old man with attempted murder after he allegedly drove over a woman "repeatedly" during a backyard burnout in Caboolture, north of Brisbane overnight.

Police said just after 11:00pm the man attended a Namatjira Court address in a white Nissan Patrol, and performed a "burnout" in the backyard.

When a 47-year-old Peachester woman — known to him — went to confront the driver, it is alleged he drove over her repeatedly, causing significant injuries to her left leg and foot.

It will be further alleged he drove over the property, before ramming a car.

Police said another woman, 42, at the address used another vehicle to reverse into the man’s vehicle.

It is alleged the man then climbed out through the window of the heavily damaged Patrol and fled the scene on foot.

A 27-year-old man from Moonee in New South Wales was arrested in the area shortly afterwards and taken to Caboolture Hospital, where he was cleared of any injuries.

He has since been charged with one count of attempted murder and is scheduled to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on Monday.

The woman was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
