Man went on mammoth spree of stealing fuel from petrol stations across Bristol

A Southmead man is behind bars after embarking on a four-month spate of petrol thefts across Bristol.

Jonathan Savage, of Twenty Acres Road, made off with more than £311.52 worth of fuel from six different petrol stations on seven occasions.

The 31-year-old's spree of thefts took place between December and April.

He was handed a 13-week jail term on September 4 at Bristol Magistrates' Court after admitting the offences.

Savage made off with £50.61 worth of petrol from Eastville Park Service Station in Muller Road on December 23.

He then took £60.04 worth from Shell Arnos Castle Service Station in St Philips Causeway on January 2.

His next target was St Andrews Service Station in St Andrews Road, Avonmouth, where he stole £70.33 worth of petrol on January 11.

Savage returned to that site on January 25, taking a further £40.35 worth.

He stole £60 worth from Gordano Services, at Junction 19 of the M5, on January 27.

His next theft took place when he took an unknown amount of petrol from Sainsbury's Petrol Station in Winterstoke Rd, Ashton, on March 17.

And he finished his spree by targeting Gloucester Road Shell Service Station in Horfield on April 9, stealing £30.19 worth of fuel.

Savage was ordered to pay £396.52 at Bristol Magistrates' Court.
