Man wearing Indiana U. sweatshirt robs bank in Wood Dale, cops say

April 29--A man wearing a red Indiana University hooded sweatshirt robbed a bank in Wood Dale Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The Wood Dale Police Department received a call about 1:20 p.m. of a bank robbery at the Wood Dale Bank and Trust, 171 E. Irving Park Road, according to a news release.

Wood Dale officers set up a perimeter around the bank but did not locate the suspect, police said.

The FBI was called in and is investigating the robbery.

No one was reported injured during the incident.

The man was described as being white, in his early to mid 30s, and about 5-feet-11 or 6-feet with a medium build. He has brown eyes.

A surveillance photo released by police shows the man wearing a dark scarf with a white design over part of the face and a red Indiana University sweatshirt with the hood up. He also was wearing dark sweatpants. Wood Dale Deputy Police Chief Mike Rivas said the suspect was wearing "grayish-dark shoes."

No information about total money stolen was given. A weapon was not displayed, authorities said.
