A man wanted in connection with the stabbing of a baby in west London has been arrested, the Metropolitan Police has said.

Rehan Khan, 25, handed himself in late on Wednesday morning and is now in custody.

An 11-month-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries in an attack in Hanworth on Monday, and is now in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

A 32-year-old woman was also injured in the stabbing attack on the Oriel estate, which police are treating as attempted murder, but her wounds were not life-threatening.

Police cordoned off the house in Swinfield Close where it took place some time after 7pm on Monday.

Paramedics and the air ambulance were also called.

Police officers flooded the area and dog handlers were sent in.

Detectives from the Met's West Area Safeguarding Team are investigating and their enquiries are ongoing, the force said.
