A man is wanted by police in connection with the rape of a woman who was also beaten in a park in a broad daylight attack.
The victim was raped in a grassy area near to Salisbury Street, St Helens, in May 2019, two years ago.
The attack happened at 8am on May 29 and it led to the arrest of a man, 29, on suspicion of rape and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was later released under investigation.
A police cordon remained around an area in Vera Page Park after the rape.
Now, detectives want to trace Arvydas Juozapavicius, 31, in connection with the rape.
He has previous known addresses in the St Helens and Haydock areas.
He is described as a white male, 6ft tall, of medium build with fair hair and blue eyes.
Anyone who has seen Juozapavicius or knows of his whereabouts is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111.
