A man is wanted by police over a serious attack that happened back in June.
Paul Middlehurst is believed to be connected to the Bootle incident and police are asking anyone who knows where he is to come forward.
The 39-year-old, who is originally from St Helens, was described by officers as a white male, of slim build.
He is around 5ft 5in tall and has blue eyes and fair hair.
Middlehurst also has links to Bootle and St Helens according to Merseyside Police.
In a statement, the force said: "Have you seen this man?
"Officers are keen to speak to 39-year-old Paul Middlehurst, originally from St Helens, in connection with an assault in Bootle on Monday, 22 June.
"He is described as a white male, of slim build, around 5ft 5in tall with blue eyes and fair hair.
"Middlehurst has links to Bootle and St Helens.
