Man wanted by Northumbria Police for armed robbery could be on the run in South Tyneside

Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect who is on run.

Officers are now appealing for help from the public to locate Michael Wright, from South Tyneside.

They are keen to find the 32-year-old as he is wanted in connection with an armed robbery which took place in South Shields on Thursday, August 8.

A number of homes have been checked in a bid to find Wright, known locally as ‘Screech’, who is believed to be staying somewhere in the South Tyneside area.

Now, police have asked the public to assist officers by reporting if they have seen him or know his whereabouts.

Wright, or anyone who believes they may have seen him, is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 0443990 or by emailing south.intell.unit@northumbria.pnn.police.uk .
