A man was attacked with a hammer while walking home from a Halloween party in Ashton-Under-Lyne on Saturday morning.
Police say the man, in his twenties, was set upon with a weapon on Stamford Square.
Fortunately, he only sustained ‘minor injuries’ and did not need hospital treatment.

Officers in Tameside believe the assault was an isolated incident.
It’s thought the man was walking home from a Halloween party just before 1am on Saturday morning (October 30).
Police are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the attack, or have information in connection to it, to come forward.
“Officers were called at just after 12.45am on Saturday morning (30 October) to a report of an assault on Stamford Square, Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside,” a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said.
“Police arrived and enquiries established that a man in his 20s had been assaulted with a weapon.
“The victim suffered minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.
“This is believed to be an isolated incident.
