Man walking along road seriously hurt after learner car crashes

A man was seriously hurt after a learner driver and a Ford Focus crashed into a block of flats.

Merseyside Police were called to Farnworth Street in Kensington just after 3pm on Monday, December 5, following reports of a crash. Once police arrived at the scene, they found a black Toyota Yaris, which had L-plates on it, and a Ford Focus had crashed and a man who was walking along the road at the time was also injured.

The black Yaris had hit the brick wall at the entrance to a block of flats on the road. The police called the North West Ambulance Service for assistance and put a cordon in place from Boaler Street to West Derby Road.

Both people were treated at the scene. West Derby Road and Farnworth Steet is closed whilst emergency services remain at the scene and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
