An elderly man was violently dragged out of a bus after he lit up a cigarette on board.
A shocking video, which has since gone viral on Twitter, shows the man being pulled out of the bus and dragged onto a nearby foot path.
In the clip, which was filmed in Russia, the elderly man can be seen puffing away at a cigarette.
A furious passenger then stands up and pulls the man along the floor by the strap on his bag.
The smoke then lies on the pavement outside the vehicle looking shocked and distraught.
The video, which was shared on Twitter page "What Could Go Wrong?" has since gone viral, with over 200,000 views.
Though some were quick to draw humour from the situation, others lashed out at the passenger for treating the elderly man in such a violent manner.
One said: "A little too much violence for just a cigarette.."
Another one added: "Yeah not that I agree with him smoking on a bus but this is excessive."
One wrote: "Jesus. Just take it from him and put it out. No need to harm like that."
However, some supported the passenger for removing the man out of the bus.
One said: "I’m not advocating dragging elders around, but the video probably doesn’t show several attempts to get this guy to stop smoking.
"If this is US, I’m sure he’s well aware there’s no smoking in buses. Guessing he was being intentionally defiant."
Another added: "Exactly what I would have done. Filthy smokers!! No offence to any of my friends on here who smoke but it’s disgusting."
