Man violently assaulted in north Dublin after 12-year-old's father 'suspected he sent daughter text'

This shocking video shows a takeaway delivery driver being violently assaulted in north Dublin after the father of a 12 year-old girl suspected he had sent his daughter a text.

The scenes took place on Monday night in the Griffith Close area of Finglas.

Footage obtained by Dublin Live shows a large man charging the alleged texter before wrestling him to the ground.

He then lands a few clean punches and kicks to the head, supported by the person recording the video, as a concern onlooker pleads with them not to "kick him to death".

A number of other voices can be heard coming towards the scene as the two men leave.

A source told Dublin Live the girl's father "went nuts", leading to a group - who also confronted the takeaway he works for - jumping on the alleged texter.

Dublin Live have contacted An Garda Siochana for comment on the assault.
