Man viciously beaten after being accused of stealing wallet from north Dublin flat

A man was viciously assaulted after he was accused of stealing a wallet from a north Dublin flat.

An angry shirtless resident took the law into his own hands, raining down blows and repeatedly kicking the would-be thief yesterday afternoon.

In footage of the incident seen by Dublin Live, the attacker can be heard saying that he caught the victim of the beating climbing out of the window with his wallet.

The man manages to get up off the ground before the other man attacks him again until a woman shouts "that's enough".

As the attacker walks back towards his home he can be heard shouting at the accused thief that he's "lucky I don't have a hammer here".

He then makes threats against the life of the alleged robber, warning that he will attack him again the next time he sees him.

A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live they have had no reports of the alleged burglary.
