Man Utd youngster scores four against Man City after leaving Blues for Red Devils

Manchester United youngster Charlie McNeill scored four against former club Manchester City in an U18s contest.

The 17-year-old scored all of his side's goals saw off their local rivals 4-2 at Carrington on Saturday morning.

McNeill was formerly on City's books and made the move to United in the summer.

He rejected a new deal at the Etihad in the summer and opted for a switch across Manchester .

And McNeill celebrated by kissing the badge showing that he has no loyalty to his old allegiences.

He scored his first after 11 minutes as he nodded in a corner and his second came seven minutes later as he made up for a missed penalty by tapping in the rebound.

City then pulled one back in controversial fashion as they scored when Tai Sodje nicked in to take a ball that was meant as a pass back following the ball being kicked out for an injury.

Reminiscent of the famous Leeds vs Aston Villa scenes United were allowed to score straight from kick-off with McNeill sealing his treble.

The United youngster then grabbed his fourth in injury time.

McNeill has scored over 600 goals in youth football and will almost certainly have his sights set on the professional game.

United have a strong tradition of giving academy talent that chance to impress in the first team.

Marcus Rashford burst onto the scene in 2016 and current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been keen to give young players a chance during his tenure.

Mason Greenwood, who impressed in the youth ranks, was given a run of games last term.

He scored 17 times in all competitions, but has struggled in his second season.

Jordan Hugill is also tipped to make the step up soon enough while the expensively-signed Amad is highly-rated.

Other academy products like Brandon Williams, Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong have been also been given minutes.
