Paul Pogba has been ruled out of Manchester United’s clash with Norwich, with Ole Gunnar Solskjær failing to put a time-frame on the midfielder’s return from an ankle and foot injury.
Pogba hasn’t played since the draw with Arsenal last month - and despite travelling to Dubai to recuperate during the international break, is still to return to fitness.
David de Gea will be back for the trip to Carrow Road on Sunday after missing Thursday’s Europa League win against Partizan Belgrade - but United will assess Nemanja Matic and Luke Shaw, who were both sent to Dubai this week for the final stage of their recoveries from respective injuries.
Shaw has been out since August with a hamstring strain, while Matic missed the draw with Liverpool with what was described as a minor problem.
Axel Tuanzebe had to pull out of that game after hurting his hip in the pre-match warm-up.
Solskjær is likely to stick with his newly-formulated 3-5-2 system against a Norwich side who stunned Manchester City with a 3-2 win at Carrow Road earlier this season.
The United manager said: “When I watched the first game against Liverpool, I saw a team with lots of courage, they were brave, they played their own way and they kept going and that has given them some great results.
“When they beat Newcastle, when they beat Manchester City - a team with a clear philosophy on how they want to play.
“So, I hope we're going to stop them, because it's always gonna be difficult down at Carrow Road, but we're ready for it now.
“We've been to Belgrade, got some players back. I managed to take Aaron (Wan-Bissaka) and Anthony (Martial) off after 60 minutes because they've been out for a long time. So hopefully we'll have a fresh team because we need to be at our best to have a chance.”
Possible Man Utd XI: De Gea; Lindelof, Maguire, Rojo; Wan-Bissaka, McTominay, Lingard, Fred, Young; Martial, Rashford
