Man Utd XI vs Man City: Confirmed team news and starting lineup for Carabao Cup semi-final

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has plenty of fitness concerns to contend with for tonight's Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg tie against Manchester City.

Centre-back Harry Maguire was doubtful for the clash due to an injury suffered in the FA Cup third-round draw at Wolves on Saturday, and misses out - with Phil Jones drafted in at the back.

On top of that, Jesse Lingard and Luke Shaw were all absent at Molineux due to illness. Lingard returns to start, though Anthony Martial is only fit enough for a place on the bench.

"We’re going to give them as much time as we can,” Solskjaer said of that quartet at his pre-match press conference. “That’s the most correct and honest answer I can give. Some of them are still not ready.

“If it was a game today I’m not sure they could perform at their best, but it’s another 36 hours until I give them the team.”

United are already without midfield duo Paul Pogba (ankle) and Scott McTominay (knee).

Man Utd lineup: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Jones, Lindelof, Williams; Fred, Andreas; James, Lingard, Rashford; Greenwood

Subs: Romero, Dalot, Matic, Chong, Gomes, Mata, Martial
