Man Utd 'will sell' Eric Bailly to Arsenal - for the right price

Manchester United will let Eric Bailly join Premier League rivals Arsenal this summer - but only if the Gunners stump up the £30million United paid for him.

Centre-back Bailly joined United from Villarreal in 2016 but looks to be on his way out as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rebuilds his squad after missing out on Champions League football next season.

Bailly injury problems have prevented him from cementing a place in the United team, and he is set to be part of Solskjaer's summer clearout along with the likes of the likes of Matteo Darmian, Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata.

Arsenal need to revitalise their ageing defence this summer.

And with United keen to recruit top-class defenders, they would be willing to sell 25-year-old Bailly to the Gunners for the right price, Metro reports.

There is also expected to be interest in the Ivorian from La Liga clubs, and United will hope that can trigger a bidding war that sees them recoup their £30m outlay.

Solskjaer will take inspiration from Tottenham counterpart Mauricio Pochettino ahead of a busy summer with Manchester United .

The Red Devils manager is preparing for a busy squad overhaul, having endured a miserable end to the season that has seen his side miss out on a top-four spot.

That Premier League woe, coupled with their Champions League exit this season, has highlighted the need for fresh faces this summer.

But, rather than splash the cash on marquee signings, Solskjaer is looking to rebuild his squad slowly and will look at younger recruits instead.

The Norwegian manager is preparing for his first full season in charge of United and is looking to follow Pochettino's lead by showing faith in youth.

Pochettino has performed a remarkable job at Spurs despite not signing a player in the last two transfer windows, and led his side to the Champions League final on Wednesday night.

That is despite working on a limited budget, with the £42million arrival of Davinson Sanchez his most expensive signing.

Solskjaer is looking at players in their early-20s, it is claimed, and is prioritising a defender and a forward this summer.
