Man Utd vs Tottenham 'friendly' turns feisty as Sissoko, James, Pereira and Kane clash in Shanghai

Manchester United and Tottenham players clashed in Shanghai as the two teams fought out the first half of their International Champions Cup clash in humid conditions.

The temperate was 34 degrees Celsius as play got under way Shanghai, although humidity mean it actually felt like 41 degrees.

Tempers frayed after Moussa Sissoko lunged in on United's summer signing Daniel James, going through the back of the winger and appearing to accidentally stamp on him.

Scott McTominay charged in to argue as around a dozen players pushed and shoved one another as the match lost all pretence of being a friendly.

It was the latest example of rough treatment that the Welsh speedster has been subjected to on the pre-season tour of Australia and Asia, while Andreas Pereira and Japhet Tanganga joined Dele Alli in the referee's notebook as the unfriendly vibe continued.

Pereira was arguably lucky to stay on the pitch following his studs-up challenge on Harry Kane, flying into the tackle and cleaning out the Spurs striker, who has a history of ankle injuries.
