Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made five changes as Manchester United hosted rivals Manchester City in a crucial derby at Old Trafford.
The United boss decided to swing the axe after Sunday's humiliating loss at Everton, bringing in Matteo Darmian, Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard.
Phil Jones, Diogo Dalot, Nemanja Matic, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku were the players to make way.
City made three changes with David Silva, Fernandinho and Vincent Kompany replacing the injured Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and John Stones.
City went into the game knowing victory would take them back above Liverpool to the top of the Premier League but any slip-up would hand the initiative to their title rivals.
