Man Utd vs Huddersfield
Premier League 2018/19
Venue: Old Trafford
Paul Pogba starred as Manchester United sealed a 3-1 win over Huddersfield Town on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Old Trafford return.
Solskjaer was treated to a hero's welcome on his first game back at the Theatre of Dreams as United's caretaker manager, and his players duly delivered to mark the occasion.
While the football on offer wasn't at the level of his dugout debut for the Red Devils - a 5-1 win at Cardiff City - United got the job done to make it two wins on the trot for the Norwegian coach.
Nemanja Matic netted his first Premier League goal since March to put United in front in the first half. Victor Lindelof's header was blocked by a Huddersfield defender on the line and Matic was on hand to turn the ball in from close range after 28 minutes.
Huddersfield rallied after the break, and David de Gea was forced to make a fine save high to his right to keep out a bobbling Laurent Depoitre effort just past the hour mark.
David Wagner's side started the game bottom of the table, and they were left to rue De Gea's save three minutes later as Pogba handed United a two-goal advantage.
Good work from Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata saw the ball fall to Ander Herrera, and the Spaniard teed up Pogba for a vicious low finish from the edge of the area.
Huddersfield's resolve was broken, and Pogba saved the best for last by lashing home a 25-yard finish into the bottom right-hand corner of the net 12 minutes from time to wrap up the points.
The Terriers scored a late consolation goal through Zanka, but it was too little, too late as United held on.
