Manchester United vs Burnley
Premier League 2018-19
Venue: Old Trafford
Date: Tuesday, January 29, 2019
Kick-off: 8pm GMT
Manchester United are looking to make it nine wins from nine under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when they welcome Burnley to Old Trafford.
Six wins in the Premier League along with Friday night's FA Cup win at Arsenal have seen the club legend get off to a perfect start in the United dugout.
United are now level on points with fifth place Arsenal and just three off fourth place Chelsea. Given their upcoming fixtures, Solskjaer will be hopeful of cutting that deficit further.
Man Utd team news
Chris Smalling is edging closer to a first-team return after his recent foot problem and could be available midweek.
Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini are the club’s only other injury absentees.
Solskjaer should restore a number of first XI picks, with David De Gea, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial likely to return after being rested against Arsenal.
However, Solskjaer may also rest a couple of starters such as Nemanja Matic, United face a Champions League clash against PSG and League ties versus Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City all within the next two months.
Man Utd XI: De Gea; Young, Jones, Lindelof, Shaw; Herrera, Pogba, Fred; Mata, Rashford, Martial
Score prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Burnley
Fixtures against Burnley, Leicester and Fulham give United a real opportunity to maintain they current momentum before the visit of Liverpool on February 24.
While Brighton demonstrated not every home game will be comfortable, United will be confident of navigating their way through this - particularly with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial fresh after being limited to just 20 minutes of action at the Emirates last Friday.
