Man Utd vs Bournemouth
Premier League 2018/19
Venue: Old Trafford
Date: Sunday, 30 December, 2018
Kick-off time: 4:30pm GMT
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is back in the Old Trafford dugout for the second time in five days as Manchester United host Bournemouth in their final game of 2018.
It has been a rollercoaster end to the year at United following Jose Mourinho's sacking, but caretaker manager Solskjaer has quickly restored the feel-good factor at Old Trafford.
Eight goals and six points from their last two games have put United within eight points of the top four, while Bournemouth's 5-0 defeat at Tottenham on Boxing Day will have the likes of a resurgent Paul Pogba eager to get in among the goals against the Cherries.
Team news and predicted line-ups
Solskjaer says Alexis Sanchez is "touch and go" but confirmed that the Chilean - who has not played since his substitute appearance against Crystal Palace in November - will be "probably definitely involved" in the match at Newcastle three days later.
After the win over Huddersfield on Boxing Day, the interim boss said: "We'll improve as time goes on and I was just thinking, and I said to the staff as well towards the end, when you go 2-0 up, maybe 3-0 up, and you think 'next week we'll have (Alexis) Sanchez, (Anthony) Martial back, you've got (Romelu) Lukaku to put on'.
"Because I think maybe we could have really finished them off then."
Martial and Lukaku missed the win over Huddersfield due to illness and a private matter respectively, while Scott McTominay (knock) and Chris Smalling (foot) remain doubts.
Man Utd XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Young, Lindelof, Jones, Shaw; Matic, Herrera; Lingard, Pogba, Martial; Rashford
Score prediction: Man Utd 3-1 Bournemouth
Despite United's new-found attacking prowess, Solskjaer would likely trade a couple of goals at one end for a clean sheet at the other.
Bournemouth are likely to try and tighten up at the back after their mauling by Spurs, but it is hard to look past United for the win if they are in similar form to their last two outings.
