Man Utd v Rochdale penalty shootout LIVE: Carabao Cup 2019-20 commentary live stream, TV, latest score, prediction

Welcome to the Evening Standard's LIVE coverage of Manchester United vs Rochdale in the Carabao Cup, which has gone to a penalty shootout.

United must pick themselves up and regroup for what could be a tricky cup tie against League One Dale at Old Trafford tonight.

Sunday's 2-0 defeat at West Ham laid bare the scale of the task facing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the United boss devoid of attacking points and short on points as the 2019-20 season shapes up to be another year of frustration for Red Devils fans - despite the recent announcement of record revenues.

Solskjaer will bring in a number of young players tonight, but with just five goals in their last six games, United could be in for a tight affair.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8pm BST, and James Robson will bring you expert analysis from Old Trafford.

Man Utd team news and lineup

Man Utd XI: Romero, Wan-Bissaka, Jones, Tuanzebe, Rojo, Fred, Pogba, Andreas, Lingard, Chong, Greenwood

Subs: Grant, Lindelof, Williams, Garner, Mata, McTominay, James

Rochdale: Sanchez, Matheson, Morley, McNulty, Norrington-Davies, Dooley, Williams, Rathbone, Camps, Keohane, Henderson

Subs: Andrew, Lynch, Wilbraham, Ryan, Bradley, Tavares, Thomas

Prediction: Man Utd 1-0 Rochdale

With United lacking attacking options and likely to field a similar lineup to the one which beat Astana, expect plenty of possession from the hosts - but not necessarily much of an end product.

The Red Devils should in theory have more than enough talent on the pitch to cruise through, but confidence will be low in Solskjaer's squad - and Rochdale could well sense a big upset.
